Are you running into a lot of streaming content that has the 7.1 formats but not 5.1? Dolby Atmos is an entirely different animal, and requires hardware be designed to support it, not just software.Īny streaming content that does have DTS, Dolby Plus, or Dolby Atmos as audio format options should have regular Dolby 5.1 as an option. DTS, and Dolby Plus are both 7.1 formats, and since we don't have a 7.1 setup, we don't support that format. Almost all streaming content that has surround audio should be using Dolby 5.1. Sonos supports Dolby Digital 5.1 for surround audio. My email was to the president venting my frustration that Sonos does not support what most of the streaming services use for 5.1 audio.
